It’s that time of the year now, when end of year functions and parties are in full force. To avoid all the high carb food and drinks is not easy but the problem is our liver takes major strain, if this way of eating and drinking becomes a habit.

The liver stores and produces glucose and fat. We need a healthy fat-burning liver, not a fat storing one. Healthy liver = faster metabolism and therefore won’t gain weight easily. But if your liver is doing the opposite, then it is busy making fat and you will not lose effectively at all!

A healthy liver also helps to control your blood sugar levels. When you don’t eat for several hours, your liver is expected to release some of that stored glucose into your bloodstream to give you energy and stop feeling hungry. If you have a sluggish liver and don’t eat for several hours, you could feel hungry more often than you should, feel weak, moody and irritable. So if you have a malfunctioning liver, you will find it extremely difficult to stick to a diet. The best thing you can do for your liver and YOU, is to start eating a low carb high fat diet.
